Football fans are depicted in full-voice in this wonderful Edwardian cartoon. Ralph Cleaver was born in 1893, and was the brother of artist Reginald Cleaver. Ralph specialised in political and sports sketches, and was published in illustrated papers including The Graphic and Punch. This sketch, "The Youth of England's Only Game - Foot Bawl!", is part of a series entitled The Humours of Football, which was published in the Pall Mall Gazette in 1907. Below is another fan-related Cleaver illustration, "The Governing Factor - Gate Money".
